What we are trying to do

The Back Hall (also known as the Guild Room) opens out onto Chapel Fields. At present it is rather run down rarely used and has a forbidding look with barrier wall, steps and solid doors. It look unattractive to passers-by. Chapel Fields is a busy lane leading from the town centre supermarket to the local primary school and housing on the edge of town.

We are aware that there is a shortage of space for local groups to meet from the demand on our adjacent Big Hall which is fully used at present by community groups.

We are raising funds to make the Back Hall more usable with better access, access to proper toilet facilities and small service bar for catering. Part of the plan will involve removal of the wall and replacement with a Paved Area and Bench.

About Trinity and its involvment in the comunity

Trinity Methodist Church, Shortmead Street, Biggleswade was built in 1834. As well as the Chapel itself there is 'Big Hall' which has recently been refurbished and is used by many groups. Behind the Big Hall and fronting onto Chapel Fields is the Old Sunday School. The downstairs of the Old Sunday School is taken up by the Back Hall which is a potential space for use by the community.

At present the premises are used by the Neptune Cub pack, Brownies (3rd, 4th & 7th Biggleswade packs), Guides, Rangers, Toddler Group, Amici Singers, BATS (local Amateur Dramatic Society), Gospel Singers, Biggleswade Choral Society, Regular Lunches/concerts for the community, Trinity Scribblers (calligraphy Group), Biggleswade Historical Society, Carpet Bowls, Yoga, Sing and Sign.
